Grand Avenue Club has a diverse funding base.  Funding comes from the Behavioral Health Division of Milwaukee County, Milwaukee County and City of Milwaukee Block Grant Funds (CDBG), The Division of Work Force Development (DVR), and from local foundations such as the Bader Foundation, Milwaukee Foundation, the Pettit Foundation, the Cudahy Foundation, McBeath Foundation and the Kadish Foundation. Grand Avenue Club also receives generous support from the individuals who respond to its annual Teabag Appeal and who attend its annual Grand Event.

Grand Avenue Club is in the middle of a  Capital Campaign for the purchase of 210 E. Michigan Street, a 24,000 square foot building that will provides a permanent home for the clubhouse.    Located in the center of the city, on the corner of Michigan and Water, 210 provides easy access via bus to any neighborhood in the metropolitan area, as well as close proximity to the quality employers with whom the clubhouse has and will have jobs.  Its large, well-ventilated rooms provide the perfect setting for the clubhouse community.

The Capital Campaign is chaired by Stu & Ann Howard Tisdale and Fred & Anne Hamilton Geilfuss.  Members of the Capital Campaign Committee include Wendy Bosworth, Richard Gallagher, Lynne Broydrick, Rachel Forman, Jim Ewens, Jack Rosenberg, Dr. Barry Blackwell, Ralph Cavaiani, Joyce Altman, Irving Raffe, Scott Reithel, Charlie Trainer, John Treiber, Henry Monaco, Dave Hoffman, and Maria Gonzalez Knavel.

The Campaign will raise $2,295,000 between 2002 and 2005, which will cover the cost of the building, the installation of an elevator that will make the building accessible for mobility impaired members, the design and installation of a commercial kitchen, the replacement of the windows, some historical restoration and a fund that will provide repairs.  The Property Management Committee is chaired by Scott Reithel of Metropolitan Associates.  As of February 2003 Grand Avenue Club has secured pledges for more than half the money that needs to be raised for the Capital Campaign.

While the Capital Campaign  is a major focus, for the purchase, restoration, and maintenance of our new home, the clubhouse continues to raise funds for operations via its annual Teabag Appeal, grant applications to private foundations and generous contributions from its friends and supporters, and its annual Grand Event.  The 2003 Grand Event will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2003 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Please go to " Upcoming Events" (see the table of contents) for details.  Join us as we honor Jack Rosenberg, a board member whose generosity has led to the strengthening of our community and the creation of many opportunities for our members, and Outpost Natural Foods, a fine Milwaukee employer.
