20j: There are no Transitional Employment placements within the clubhouse. T.E.P. at an auspice agency must be offsite from the clubhouse and meet all of the above criteria.
We distinguish between work at the clubhouse which is unpaid, (but purposeful) and paid employment in the community. Paid employment should always exist outside the clubhouse with members indistinguishable from other employees. A T.E. within our clubhouse would also create tension and jealousy because some of us would be paid while others would not be. If the clubhouse had in-house placements, some tasks would not be open to all members, and that would be a violation of Standard #18.
