This gives us a variety of choices to use to further our career goals, or to find our niche. We are able to try different jobs. Also, if there were only a couple of employers, the program could be put at risk if one employer cancelled their T.E.
The jobs that many other programs feel are suitable for us—food service and janitorial—do not deserve the reputation they have as low-skill, low-demand careers. Especially for those of us who do not have a lot of strength or dexterity, these jobs can be difficult and dangerous. But the clubhouse T.E. program gives us a chance to excel at these jobs, as well as other jobs that give us access to the new computer technology.
