20d: Members are paid the prevailing wage rate, but at least minimum wage, directly by the employer.
Being paid at least minimum wage gives us another incentive to work. Members who work a T.E. are doing the same job as other employees and we should be paid the prevailing wage. Unlike working in sheltered workshops, where our pay was a pittance, having the employer pay us the prevailing wage rate gives us a sense of truly being employed. And we truly are!
