Perspectives on the Standards

Our clubhouses are open during hours similar to those of many businesses. In fact, many clubhouses are open more hours than some businesses. This is essential to give members who are interested in Independent Employment in the future the stamina and confidence to work a full day. Our clubhouses are complex operations, and just as they require the full-time participation of most staff members, they also rely on members to participate as fully as they choose to. But this Standard is most helpful because, as members, we deserve all the opportunities to be productive that most working people have. If our clubhouses were part-time operations, they could not serve colleagues as well as they now do.
